Agartala: MP Rajib Bhattacharjee demanded a technology-driven residential skill development and employment center for tribal youth in Tripura during a Rajya Sabha session on Tuesday. He claims previous Left Front and Congress administrations ignored the needs of these communities. Now, he wants change.
Bhattacharjee credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi with accelerating growth across the Northeast since 2014. He argued that a dedicated facility would boost self-reliance and help tribal youth contribute to the national agenda. This center must use modern technology to bridge the employment gap effectively.
The MP also thanked the Prime Minister for promoting Tripura on his radio show, Mann Ki Baat. Modi specifically honored the traditional Chongpreng instrument and folk artist Suraj Kumar Debbarma. Bhattacharjee stated, "This recognition has brought national honour to Tripura's rich traditions and will inspire artists and cultural workers across the state."
The push aligns with the Viksit Tripura, Viksit Bharat vision. Government officials intend to keep prioritizing tribal progress alongside the preservation of local cultural heritage.
