Kohima: Health and Family Welfare Minister P. Paiwang Konyak arrived in Tizit on July 23. He surveyed the damage caused by recent flooding. He met with government officials, NGOs, civil society groups, and student leaders inside the ADC conference hall.
Paiwang praised the local response to the disaster. He noted the team effort provided much-needed relief to struggling residents. The minister promised that aid is coming. "All possible assistance, including medicines, food and other essential relief materials, would reach Tizit once road conditions improve and accessibility is restored."
Relief efforts face logistical hurdles. The minister personally provided food grains and cash to the hardest-hit zones. These locations include Tizit Town, Lapa Lampong, and the Greenply area. He vowed to keep backing local rehabilitation programs. Paiwang also called on wealthy citizens and groups to donate whatever they can to help neighbors rebuild.
