The union labeled the situation a "dire health issue" for neighborhood residents. They now want the Veterinary Department to perform daily inspections of every pig farm in the district. The group also called on the Dimapur Municipal Council and district administration to step in and investigate the sites immediately.
The GB Union officially backed the Niu Colony Council and local leaders on the matter. They issued a stern warning to farm operators. Any facility failing to meet strict hygiene norms faces potential permit cancellation. The union intends to push for legal action against those showing negligence if the current practices do not stop.
