Dimapur and Chümoukedima Announce Traffic Curbs for CRPF Marathon

Kohima: Dimapur and Chümoukedima will lock down roads on October 28 for the Half Marathon 2026. The 173 Battalion CRPF and the Sports Authority of India host the race. It starts and ends at Agri Expo Junction, 4th Mile. Runners head out at 5:30 am sharp. The path snakes through Central Jail, Naga United Village, the NH-29 bypass toward Niuland-Shouba, Patkai Bridge, and the NH-29 highway.

Authorities enforce traffic restrictions from 5:20 am to 7:30 am. Drivers must hug the right side of the road and hold speeds at or below 30 kmph. Don't stop. Don't overtake. The Deputy Commissioner of Police warned that "the entry and movement of heavy vehicles along the route will also be restricted, except for school buses and emergency services."

The stretch from Patkai Bridge to the NH-29 four-lane start near the Chümoukedima first gate switches to a single lane. Officers will control flow in phases to keep both Dimapur and Kohima traffic moving. Need help? Call Traffic Control at 7085055039.

The race route loops back to the Agri Expo Junction, completing a full circle after moving through the NH-29 highway toward Dimapur. Authorities will manage the single-lane stretch between Patkai Bridge and the first gate of Chümoukedima by alternating flow, meaning drivers heading toward either Dimapur or Kohima will be held in phases to clear the road for the pack.
