East Dimapur Imposes Heavy Vehicle Ban for Road Construction

Kohima: The East Dimapur Town Council shut down a stretch of road to heavy traffic starting September 28. The ban covers the path from NH-29 Model Road to GMS School in Darogajan. Work ends October 15. Heavy vehicle operators and owners must steer their rigs toward the Four-Lane Road instead.

Construction crews need the space. The council stated the move aims to ensure the "smooth and uninterrupted execution" of the project. This shutdown protects public safety, commuters, and the workers on site. Officials demand full cooperation from everyone involved until the deadline passes or they issue further orders.

Light vehicles have a different path. The council suggested drivers take a detour through Nitoke Tower Junction, Lane 6, Model Colony, Mount View Church Road, and the Hollohon Petrol Pump to reach NH-29. Stick to these routes to avoid delays.
