Dibrugarh Family Accused of 3-Crore Financial Fraud

Guwahati: A Dibrugarh family stands accused of a massive 3-crore rupee fraud. Three relatives allegedly pocketed life savings meant for post office schemes, LIC policies, and bank deposits. The accused are Ratan Pal, his brother Rajiv Pal, and Ratan's wife, Pallavi Dutta Pal.

The trio posed as official agents to hook victims. They promised high returns on investments. Instead, they kept the cash. The scam surfaced when investors checked their accounts and found no records of their money. The suspects lived in a rented house in the Shantipara area of Dibrugarh. Complainants claim the family disappeared overnight as soon as the fraud came to light.

Many residents in and around Dibrugarh lost money over several years of saving. These victims are now desperate to get their money back. "Many are now struggling to recover their money and have approached the police for action," one local source stated regarding the fallout. The Dibrugarh Sadar Police Station has registered a formal case against the trio.

Authorities are still digging into the scheme. Police are currently working to trace the fugitives and verify the exact scale of the theft. The investigation remains active.
