Congress Pushes Zunheboto Party Members to Join Delhi Rally

Kohima: AICC observer Pranav Shagotra wants a massive turnout from Zunheboto for the Congress Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao rally. The protest hits Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi on November 1. Shagotra spoke to local party workers at the District Congress Bhavan on October 28. He arrived in Nagaland three days prior for his first visit.

Rahul Gandhi leads this national campaign. The party aims to defend democracy and protect voting rights. Shagotra pointed to a Special Investigation Team report claiming 13 crore votes were wiped from national electoral rolls. He is now assigning observers to check district records. In Zunheboto alone, he claimed 11,513 of the 1,04,277 recorded votes vanished. He said, "Every eligible citizen had the right to vote and urged people to support efforts to protect democratic institutions."

The AICC observer took aim at top officials. He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar of manipulating voter lists. He directed the district president and in-charge to ensure supporters arrive in Delhi by the evening of October 31 or before 5 am on November 1. This rally follows a previous protest held on October 12 which brought together assembly-level representatives and state presidents. Shagotra expects a bigger crowd this time to push back against the current state of democracy.
