Kohima: Nagaland University held a Dedicated One-Day Event on October 28 as part of the government's Special Campaign 6. The initiative spanned all three university campuses. It focused on slashing government work backlogs, improving grievance handling, and boosting efficiency.
Staff cleared out office clutter, disposed of electronic waste, and moved more operations to digital e-office systems. Lumami headquarters hosted the main program. Controller of Examinations Yanrenthung Ezung served as the chief guest.
Ezung pushed for better work habits. "Swachhata was not limited to keeping offices, campuses, hostels and classrooms clean, but also encompassed good governance and dedication to work," he said. He challenged staff to respond to student needs faster and cut down on paper waste by relying on digital tools.
The event included a health lecture from Nursing Officer Nilito I Achumi regarding local health services. Staff distributed supplements to villagers nearby. Judges Dr Lobeno Mozhui and Dr Vihieno Iralu awarded winners in a Best out of Waste competition. KV student Kaushik Kumar Naik took first place in his category, while Chongmanglila won the top spot for staff and students. System Administrator Zajamo Yanthan chaired the event, with Public Relations Officer Peter Ki offering opening remarks.
