BJYM Protests in Agartala Over CM Residence Siege

Agartala: Members of the Tripura Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha took to the streets of Agartala on July 27. They want police to arrest Congress workers tied to a recent push against Chief Minister Manik Saha’s home. The crowd marched to demand swift action from local authorities.

State BJYM president Arindam Deb led the rally alongside Vice President Viki Prasad and Secretary Nabadal Banik. They claim unauthorized protesters tried to storm the Chief Minister’s residence to stir up trouble. Police intervened, but the agitators reportedly kept moving forward while hurling insults.

Deb addressed the gathered supporters during the event. "Everyone has the democratic right to protest, but demonstrations must be conducted lawfully. The police tried to stop the protesters, but they allegedly advanced towards the Chief Minister's residence and used abusive language," Deb said.

The BJYM leadership accused Congress and the CPI(M) of forming an alliance to block state progress and manufacture chaos. Deb also blasted the opposition for their conduct regarding an alleged assault on an Army officer and public comments directed at police staff. The BJYM promised to keep pressing until the individuals involved in the incident are in handcuffs. Neither Congress nor the CPI(M) have issued a formal reply.
