Guwahati: Soldiers from the 26 Assam Rifles set up a mobile clinic in Jatinga on Saturday. The unit, operating under the Agartala Sector out of Haflong, teamed up with the Dima Hasao Ex-Servicemen Committee to run the event. It brought aid to the remote district.
Over 150 locals showed up. Women and children were among the crowd seeking help for common ailments. The medical staff handed out free drugs to those who needed them. They also spent time talking to residents about preventing disease and keeping up with hygiene.
The force claims these events show their dedication to the people living along the border. Jatinga residents welcomed the arrival of the doctors. One villager stated the camp provided "much-needed healthcare services to people living in the remote hill district." The Assam Rifles confirmed these outreach efforts will continue as they balance security duties with community support.
