Aadhaar Vahan Campaign Hits Wokha District to Boost Enrollment

Kohima: The UIDAI Regional Office in Guwahati and the Wokha District Administration kicked off a mobile Aadhaar Vahan drive on October 22. The program seeks to fix low enrollment rates in remote parts of Nagaland. Officials expect the campaign to expand into other low-saturation districts soon.

The mobile unit travels directly to residents to provide enrollment access. "The Aadhaar Vahan will travel across the district, providing convenient access to enrolment facilities for all age groups so that residents in remote areas can avail the services closer to their homes," stated the press release.

Children must finish Mandatory Biometric Updates at ages 5 and 15. Parents need to act now. Failure to update between ages 5 to 7 and 15 to 17 could lead to the deactivation of Aadhaar numbers. Current data accuracy is vital for school admissions, entrance exams, scholarships, and Direct Benefit Transfer schemes.

Camps will visit 14 villages from October 26 to November 13, 2026. Teams will operate out of community halls or schools. The schedule includes stops at Phiro on October 26, Sankitong on October 27, L Yangthung on October 28, Meriyan on October 29, and Aree Old on October 30. Activities continue with Changsu Old on November 2, Longsachung on November 3, Baghty on November 4, Makharong on November 5, Yimpang on November 9, Yimparasa on November 10, Serika on November 11, Okotso on November 12, and Pangti on November 13.
