Kohima: Assam Rifles doctors treated elderly residents at a medical camp in Zhipu village, Meluri, on August 25. The crew helped 45 people. They gave advice on nutrition, hygiene, and preventive care. The goal was simple: get locals to track their health and seek help early.
On the same day, the force shifted focus to the next generation in Mon district. They hosted 55 students at the Chenmoho Company Operating Base for a day of career talks and games. Kids played sack races, tug of war, musical chairs, jalebi races, and sprinted in a 100-metre dash.
Officers briefed the students on the history of the unit and their role in border security. They discussed how to join the force and what daily life looks like for a soldier. Students asked questions during an open house about education and self-discipline. This work aligns with the unit’s identity as the "Sentinels of the North East" and "Friends of the Hill People."
