Chümoukedima and Mon Host Solar Power Registration Camps

Kohima: District administrations in Chümoukedima and Mon are teaming up with the Department of Power to host Seva Setu camps from October 14 to 16. These events aim to hook residents up with the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Doors open at 10 am at the Deputy Commissioner office complexes in both districts.

Staff will handle on-the-spot registrations via the National Scheme Portal. You can talk to empanelled solar vendors, get help with bank loan paperwork, and receive technical advice from Power Department officials. Mon Deputy Commissioner Wennyei Konyak has directed the Executive Engineer of the Mon Electrical Division to oversee the effort. He also ordered all ward chairmen and village council leaders to spread the word. "The district administrations have urged eligible residents and other stakeholders to participate in the camps and take advantage of the facilities available under the scheme."

Chümoukedima households can snag central and state subsidies for rooftop solar setups up to 3 kW. The package includes free smart prepaid meters and collateral-free bank loans. Bring your original documents and copies to qualify. You need your latest electricity bill, identity proof, land ownership papers for your roof, a bank passbook, and two passport-sized photos.

The Mon sessions will focus on explaining beneficiary rules, how to apply, and sorting out vendor questions. Residents should show up early to get the process moving.
