Guwahati: The Assam government kicks off Mission Basundhara 4.0 on December 25, 2026. The launch marks National Good Governance Day. This latest phase aims to modernize land records and digitize surveys across the state. Past phases helped 3.56 lakh families, handing over 4.53 lakh bighas of land.
Officials plan a Digital Char Area Survey to map riverine regions. The state will also focus on specific land issues facing the Moran, Matak, Ahom, Chutia, Koch Rajbongshi, and Barak Valley communities. These indigenous groups represent a core priority for the project.
New integrated digital platforms will handle the workload. Project Jorip, MATI, and ASOM will form the backbone of the system. The state claims the move will make administration transparent. "Mission Basundhara 4.0 is expected to further strengthen land governance, improve service delivery, and promote inclusive development through technology-driven reforms."
Industrial growth takes center stage too. The government intends to fast-track land approvals for MSMEs and Khadi-related projects. Cutting red tape should stop long delays in land allotment. By pushing these reforms, Assam looks to speed up business growth and entrepreneurship across the board.
