Arunachal Minister Calls for Peace After Border Skirmish with Assam

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Home and Border Affairs Minister Mama Natung is pushing for peace. Tensions spiked recently near the Dhemaji and Lower Siang districts following a violent firing and physical clash near the Dhemaji and Lower Subansiri border. The situation is now under control. Normalcy has returned to the region.

Natung branded Assam as the state's permanent neighbor and, specifically, its "elder brother." He leaned on a quote from former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, noting that friends might change but neighbors stay the same. This relationship demands protection.

Local leadership earned praise for stopping the chaos before it spread. Natung credited the deputy commissioners and police superintendents of the affected areas for their rapid response. He warned that the law will catch up to those responsible for the violence. He now expects residents from both states to foster communal harmony and keep the spirit of brotherhood alive.
