Kohima: The Angami Students Union fixed new monthly tuition rates for the 2026-2027 academic year. These rules apply across all areas under the union's jurisdiction. They want transparency. Families need consistency.
Rural students in Class 10 and below will pay 700 rupees per month. Home tuition costs 1,500 rupees in those rural zones. Urban families face steeper costs. Students in cities pay 1,000 rupees monthly. Home tuition in urban sectors jumps to 3,000 rupees. Each session must last at least one hour with a minimum of five classes every week.
The union set a strict limit on group sizes to maintain quality. The teacher to student ratio must stay at 1:6 for every batch. The union said the "revised fee structure is strictly applicable to both rural and urban areas under its jurisdiction, and has been deliberately adjusted to reflect transparency and the unique economic realities of the communities."
