Agartala: Bulldozers rolled into Math Chowmuhani on Wednesday. The Agartala Municipal Corporation tore down part of a house owned by retired teacher Dipal Pal. Police stood guard throughout the operation to keep the peace. The action followed a specific directive issued by the Tripura High Court.

A property fight between brothers Chayan Pal and Dipal Pal triggered the legal battle. Chayan filed a complaint back in 2021 alleging that building rules were broken. The court heard the case for months before demanding strict enforcement of the law. Officials arrived with heavy equipment to execute that ruling.

Family members disputed the demolition. They claim the section removed was built nearly thirty years ago. Relatives insisted the structure was never illegal and blamed the conflict on a long-standing family feud. One family representative stated, "The structure was not illegal but rather the subject of a decades-old fraternal land dispute."

The administration ignored the protests. They cited the court order as the only reason for the cleanup. Curiosity drew crowds of residents to the site as the walls fell. Neighbors remain divided on whether the move was a necessary check on growth or a harsh response to a private family matter.
