Agartala: Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumder kicked off a mega blood donation camp at the Usha Bazar Bharat Ratna Club. Residents and club members gathered to give blood. The event mixed Janmashtami celebrations with the push for social service. Mayor Majumder praised the organizers for their consistent work. He said, "while festivals bring joy and celebration, extending that spirit to save lives through blood donation is truly commendable."
The club also revealed its Durga Puja theme for 2026. They chose Sri Krishna Dwarka Nagari as the design focus. It will feature the architecture and myths of the Dwapar era. Ratan Ghosh, Chairman of Gomati Cooperative Milk Producers Union Ltd, attended the event. He helped release the plaque to mark the official reveal. The organizers hope to blend modern art with ancient tradition for visitors.
The day pushed the message that blood donation remains the greatest gift. Donors turned out in high numbers to support the cause. The city continues to tie cultural events to humanitarian efforts. Officials thanked the volunteers who made the camp a success.
