Agartala: Agartala Mayor and Ramnagar MLA Dipak Majumder kicked off a blood donation and cloth distribution drive Sunday. The event took place at the Baitul Aman Jame Masjid in Rajnagar during Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi. Blood is needed. Majumder noted the state faces high demand across 12 government blood banks.

The effort follows a call to action from Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha. Groups across Tripura are now organizing similar drives to bolster supplies. Majumder praised the volunteers for their service. "Those who have come forward for this humanitarian cause deserve our heartfelt thanks. I urge people from all sections of society to keep participating in such social and humanitarian programs in the future," he said.

Local residents joined the camp to donate blood. Dignitaries also handed out clothes to attendees. Minority Chairman Jasim Uddin and TRTC Chairman Samar Roy attended the event. Municipal councillors Nitu Dey and Tushar Kanti Bhattacharya joined them alongside Ramnagar Mandal president Amitabh Bhattacharjee. The event aimed to blend faith with social responsibility to build community ties.
