Agartala: Tripura Gramin Bank Chairman Satyendra Singh attended a high-level review meeting in Mumbai on September 3. The session targeted improvements in Self Help Group bank linkage and individual enterprise financing. Union Minister for Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan delivered the keynote address. He led the discussions on critical financial outreach.
Senior representatives from the Reserve Bank of India, NITI Aayog, NABARD, and the Department of Financial Services joined the talks. Private, public, and regional rural banks sent their top officials to the table. Singh was one of 11 regional rural bank chairpersons tasked with a bank-wise performance review. The agenda covered DAY-NRLM, Financial Inclusion 2.0, and the expansion of BC Sakhi programs. Attendees also tackled strategies for financial literacy and strengthening rural credit delivery.
Government officials including Department of Rural Development Secretary Rohit Kansal attended alongside Maharashtra ministers. The event emphasized women-led enterprises and broader economic growth. Singh stressed the bank's commitment to these goals. "The participation of Tripura Gramin Bank's chairman highlighted the bank's continued focus on rural financial inclusion, women's empowerment, SHG financing and inclusive economic growth," the report stated. The bank remains dedicated to providing formal banking access to its rural communities.

The summit took place at the Hotel Hyatt in Mumbai. Alongside the previously mentioned agencies, the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority, or PFRDA, also participated in the strategy sessions.
