Agartala: Tripura Gramin Bank inked a deal with the state government to roll out a specialized salary package for employees. The agreement, signed Thursday at Conference Hall-III in the Agartala Civil Secretariat, aims to boost financial inclusion for civil servants. The bank now offers regular and contractual government staff exclusive banking perks.
Key bank leadership attended the signing, including Chairman Satyendra Singh, General Manager Anup Kumar Saha, and other staff members. State representation included Finance Secretary Dr. Parshant Kumar Goyal, Additional Secretary Dr. Akinchan Sarkar, and Joint Secretary Dr. Debamita Kilikdar. Deputy Secretaries Prithwiraj Debnath, Beiseia Darlong, Narayan Chandra Majumder, and Subrata Kumar Das also participated.
The package features personal accident insurance coverage worth up to Rs 2.5 crore. Employees pay nothing for this policy. The bank claims this is the largest accidental coverage currently available to salaried workers in the state. Satyendra Singh said, "The initiative reflects the bank's commitment to offering value-added financial services to government employees while further strengthening its partnership with the state government."
The bank plans to provide additional banking services as part of this welfare effort. The scheme seeks to expand the range of financial solutions available to public sector workers. Both parties hope to simplify banking for the state workforce.
