Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha launched the Mukhyamantri Sankhyalaghu Unnayan Prokolpa 2026 at Pragna Bhavan in Agartala on July 29. The program aims to boost financial inclusion and generate sustainable livelihoods for the minority population. Minorities make up nearly 16 percent of the state. Saha distributed loan assistance to selected beneficiaries to help them start or expand income-generating businesses.
The state government recently submitted a 322-crore proposal to the Centre. This funding supports projects meant to accelerate socio-economic progress. Saha stated the government follows the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Welfare initiatives focus on education, healthcare, financial empowerment, and security. “The state government is committed to building trust among minority communities by ensuring transparency, accountability and effective implementation of welfare schemes,” Saha said.
Minority Welfare Minister Shukla Charan Noatia, Special Secretary Nirmal Adhikari, and the Chairman of the Minority Development Corporation attended the event. The government also signed three Memorandums of Understanding with the National Stock Exchange to improve financial literacy and support small businesses. Saha emphasized that educating daughters remains a top priority for family strength. Officials noted that communal harmony and unity in diversity are the foundations of the state’s growth strategy.
