Kohima: Construction crews remain on track to finish the new Deputy Commissioner's office in Wokha by May 2027. Er Sungtiba Amer, Assistant Chief Engineer for the Civil Administration Works Division, led an inspection team to the site on Friday. He walked the grounds with Wokha Deputy Commissioner K Mhathung Tsanglao to review the structural progress. The team found the work moving at a steady pace. The project, which received a work order in June 2025, follows a 36-month timeline mandated by the State Level Project Monitoring and Implementation Committee.
This G+1 structure features two basement levels. It consolidates administrative departments to boost public service. Er Amer praised the current pace of the build. He told the team, "Maintaining the current momentum would be crucial in meeting the targeted completion date." Regular site checks catch problems early and guarantee quality.
The inspection tour continued in Tseminyu. Er Amer joined Deputy Commissioner Japheth Woch to view the new office complex, flat-type quarters, and a planned bungalow. This project relies on the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment scheme and state funds. The G+2 reinforced cement concrete office includes a 150-seat conference hall, an elevator, and specific design features for people with disabilities.
The tour finished in Mokokchung. Er Amer met with Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma to check on the proposed site for an Additional Deputy Commissioner's residence. The officials also surveyed the flat-type officers' quarters currently under construction in the district.
