State Labour Department Cancels Eight Trade Union Registrations

Kohima: The State Labour Department shut down eight trade unions effective immediately. Officials pulled their registration papers following regulatory defaults. This move stems from mandatory notices sent out earlier on June 19 and August 4, 2026. The department expects strict compliance from all registered entities.

Affected groups include the Dimapur Motor Workers Trade Union, Dimapur Auto Rickshaw Owners Union, Dimapur Land Transport Workers Union, and the East Dimapur Purana Bazar Labour Trade Union. The list also names the Dimapur Taxi Drivers Union, Dimapur Cycle Rickshaw Pullers Union, Dimapur Truck Drivers Union, and the Kohima District Land Transport Trade Union based in Phesama.
