Kohima: The Seyochung Area Students Union wants a high-level probe into the Kiphire Deputy Commissioner. SASU president Muwali T Sangtam and general secretary Vitsala S Sangtam sent the formal demand to the Commissioner of Nagaland. They want accountability. Their request stems from an October 1, 2026, complaint filed by T Likhumse Sangtam and Tsathrise Rudy. The commissioner’s office acknowledged receipt of that filing on October 5.
SASU claims the situation poses risks to public trust and the welfare of Kiphire district. They demand a transparent, time-bound, and impartial investigation committee. The union seeks disciplinary action if officials find the allegations hold weight. "The seriousness of the issues warranted an independent and impartial inquiry," the group stated. The union stressed they are not assuming guilt or innocence. They simply want the truth. Any delay might weaken public faith in local administration.
