Kohima: The Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen’s Federation gathers for a general meeting on October 2 at 10:00 am. The session takes place at the Lengrijan Council Hall. Officials demand that every urban council chairman show up accompanied by two council members. The federation states that “important agendas will be discussed” and expects full participation from all involved parties.
Meanwhile, the Kohima Municipal Council is cracking down on illicit freight. Chief Executive Officer Alemyapang Longchar warned that transport vehicles have been slipping into town without valid import permits. This practice skirts necessary regulatory checks and trade monitoring. Longchar issued a stern directive to all haulers. “Failing to comply with this circular may entails strict denial of entry and appropriate actions as per the provisions of the law and municipal regulations,” he said.
Commuters in Kohima should prepare for a transport shortage. The Nagaland Two Wheeler Taxi Association is shutting down scooty taxi services on October 2. The group is celebrating its 7th Foundation Day and hosting a picnic. Any rider caught working that day faces a penalty under the association's internal rules. Officials expect the public to plan ahead for the service gap.
