Kohima: The All Nagaland Taxi Association Dimapur Unit wants the state government to speed up the Vehicle Location Tracking Device system for commercial cars. Officials Ghunato Chophy and Vinito Assumi warned that ongoing delays hurt owners relying on these vehicles for work. The system remains stalled. This block leaves many unable to register their cars or finish legal paperwork.
Hundreds of owners bought new vehicles up to seven months ago but cannot hit the road. The association reported that "many are still awaiting registration solely because the VLTD system has not been implemented in the State." This backlog causes real financial pain for families.
Lack of these devices creates insurance headaches and potential legal risks. The group argues that the technology improves passenger safety, tracking, and emergency response across the region. They now demand the government "urgently implement the VLTD system across the State" while setting up enough installation centers. ANTA maintains they are ready to help resolve this long-pending issue to keep the transport sector moving.
