Kohima: The Indian Red Cross Society Dimapur District Branch visited the Selas Rehab Centre Female Wing on August 15. They marked the 80th Independence Day with a ceremonial program organized by the local administration. Center Administrator Nuklu Longkumer and Director Arenla hosted the team.
IRCS Dimapur District Chairman Chandu Agarwal spoke to the crowd. He urged the inmates to avoid drugs and alcohol and become responsible citizens. He said, "The programme concluded with a message of hope, service and patriotism."
Other officials joined the event. Chief Advisor Capt Hakiye, Honorary Secretary K K Paul, and committee members Lipok Pongen and Kuldeep Jain spoke. Treasurer Ashok Agarwal also attended, while Patron Bajranglal Bucha gave the vote of thanks.
The group handed over essential goods to the staff. They delivered food grains, milk powder, tea leaves, edible oil, soap, a rice cooker, and a pedestal fan. Members of the IRCS Dimapur District Managing Committee paid for these items.
The facility currently supports many people. It houses 17 inmates at the female wing and 37 at the male wing located near Sunday Bazar.
