Imphal: Security forces pulled a hidden arsenal from the mud near the Sehken-Khuga Dam on August 14. A patrol from the 1st Indian Reserve Battalion scouted the Churachandpur district site during a security sweep for the 80th Independence Day.

The haul included three homemade weapons. Troops recovered a single-barrel firearm, an SMC carbine, and a .32 pistol. They also found six live .32 caliber rounds, two Baofeng radio sets, and an improvised mortar known as a Pumpi. The gear sat unattended in the bush. No suspects are in custody.

Authorities have not linked the stash to specific individuals yet. Officials confirmed the discovery occurred as police ramped up patrols to protect the region. Security remains tight. Regarding the ongoing operations in the district, a local official stated, "Further details regarding the ownership of the recovered weapons and any arrests, if made, were not immediately available."
