Security Forces Seize Weapons and Radio Gear in Noney Raid

Imphal: Security forces raided Irang village in Noney district early Monday morning. The joint task force included the Central Reserve Police Force, the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action, the Rapid Action Force, and the Khongsang Police Station. The operation kicked off at 5 am.

Troops searched 60 houses and vetted 120 people during the sweep. They discovered one single-barrel rifle, nine live rounds of ammunition, two Baofeng wireless handsets, and a charger. The gear was hidden at the site. Officials suspect an insurgent group stashed the cache.

According to the official report filed with the Khongsang police station, the materials were found concealed at the operation site. All seized items are now in police custody for further investigation.
