Imphal: Security forces uncovered a haul of illegal weapons in Manipur. The recovery happened on July 25 along the Akham-Lamdeng stretch in the Imphal West district. Lamsang Police Station officers led the search. They found a stash of arms buried in the area.
The inventory includes two modified .303 rifles, four bolt-action single-barrel guns, and four 9 mm pistols. Officials also found one Chinese hand grenade and 15 barrel cartridges. This sweep falls under the broader #DisarmForPeace campaign. Forces are pushing into vulnerable zones to seize illicit gear and calm the region.
Manipur Police confirmed the mission aims at "curbing the circulation of illegal arms and restoring peace in the state." Investigators are currently tracing the source of these weapons. They want to know who owns the gear. The probe continues.
