Itanagar: Security forces captured an alleged over ground worker linked to the banned NSCN(K) insurgent group on October 12. The 20 Assam Rifles and Arunachal Pradesh Police staged a joint operation in the Magantong area of Bordumsa. Intelligence pointed to insurgent activity in the Changlang district. They moved in fast.

Officers identified the suspect as Wangphan Hakhun, son of Phangwang Hakhun. He lives in Rajangar-II village under the jurisdiction of the Bordumsa Police Station. Interrogation suggests Hakhun funneled extortion cash to senior outfit members. He reportedly admitted to his role in "collecting extortion money on behalf of SS Captain David Lowang," who serves as the group’s revenue in-charge for the district. He also worked for SS Captain Phuaney Hakhun.

Hakhun provided logistical support to NSCN cadres. This included moving money and coordinating supplies. Police now hold the suspect at the Bordumsa Police Station. Authorities continue to investigate his connections to the outlawed outfit.
