NSCN-K (Yung-Aung) Claims Attack on Assam Rifles Post in Arunachal Pradesh

Kohima: The NSCN-K (Yung-Aung) claims it struck an Assam Rifles post in Tikhak Taipi village, Changlang district, early Friday morning. The Naga Army tactical unit launched the assault on the 21 Assam Rifles base at 3 a.m. Gunfire rang out for 45 minutes.

The group’s Ministry of Information and Publicity stated that the ambush served as a "direct and necessary action" against the continued domination of the Naga people. Rebels demand freedom and dignity. They warned that military operations against security forces will only intensify until they reach their objectives.

Security forces responded by locking down the entire area. The insurgents claimed they could not confirm the exact number of casualties among the soldiers. Heavily armed reinforcements arrived quickly. Aerial drones scanned the terrain for movement. The rebel unit withdrew as the military buildup tightened.
