Kohima: Sazolie College held its Graduation Day on July 30 at Vineizono Hall in Phezhu, Jotsoma. The event honored the academic milestones of the graduating class. Assistant professor Ajungla Jamir opened the ceremony with an invocation following the academic procession and college anthem.
Principal Dr. Gopal Chetri told graduates they should view this moment as the start of a new life phase. Academic dean Dr. Puspanjoli D. Nakhro presented a report highlighting the college’s recent successes and the students' hard work. The keynote speaker, Prof. Dipak Sinha of Nagaland University, called for grit. He urged them to "pursue their careers with determination, adaptability and a commitment to excellence."
Degrees were formally conferred, and honors were handed out. Talirenla of the Psychology department grabbed the top spot with a 9.60 CGPA, earning the Management Topper’s Award and the Alumni Academic Excellence Award. Bendanglemla secured the second position with a 9.43 CGPA and took home the Student of the Year Award. Other Psychology students honored included Watimen I. Longchar in fifth at 9.08 and Yapangsenla in eighth at 8.66. From the Political Science department, Esther T. Ezung placed third with a 9.27 CGPA, and Pezavino Nagi took ninth with 8.88. Khrotsho-u Lasuh also placed fourth with a 9.13 CGPA.
Edward P. Sangtam chaired the event. Musical sets were performed by Akhrulu Swuro and Benchumo T. Ezung. Talirenla gave the valedictory address. The day finished with a benediction from college chaplain Nzanthung Kikon.
