Golaghat Youth Dies Following Suspected Drug Use

Guwahati: Lakhi Baruah is dead. The young man from Naosolia village in Borting was found inside a house at Aka Tiniali following a suspected drug overdose. He reportedly consumed a narcotic substance alongside another youth named Deepak Chetia earlier that day.

Baruah fell ill on his way home. His condition crashed fast. Friends took him to a nearby house to help, but he died shortly after being laid down. Local residents are rattled by the incident.

"The police are examining the sequence of events, including the circumstances under which Baruah allegedly consumed the suspected narcotic substance and the events leading up to his death."

Officers from the Dhekiyal police station and a magistrate arrived at the house to process the scene. They are currently digging into the timeline of the day. Authorities continue to gather evidence as the investigation progresses.
