Guwahati: Raijor Dal and Jatiya Yuva Bahini cornered the National Testing Agency on Wednesday. They demanded immediate answers regarding the missing UGC-NET 2026 results and provisional answer keys. More than 40 days have slipped by since the exam date. Thousands of students remain in limbo.

Spokesperson Mardan Dihingia held a joint press conference in Guwahati to air these grievances. He argued that the delay hurts students eyeing PhD programs, Junior Research Fellowships, and Assistant Professor roles. The exam is the primary entry point for these academic paths.

The organizations want an external agency to lead an independent probe into the mess. They believe the NTA cannot police itself. They also called on the new leadership at the Union Education Ministry to act fast. Dihingia noted that swapping ministers will not fix the underlying rot. "The government must treat the UGC-NET examination with the seriousness it deserves. Students have invested months of preparation and deserve timely results and complete transparency," Dihingia said.

These groups are currently holding internal meetings. They plan to announce a protest schedule in the coming days if the NTA stays quiet. They insist that the government owes candidates a clear timeline and a solid explanation for the failure.
