Guwahati: The Assam government granted 3 bighas, 1 katha, and 1.76 lechas of land to B. Borooah College in Guwahati. Finance Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah delivered the official allotment letter to college leadership.
Baruah is a former student of the institution. He spoke at the event shortly before the college marks its 84th Foundation Day. This move aims to bolster the school's infrastructure and provide necessary space for future growth. The minister emphasized his personal connection to the site during the ceremony. He noted the action is a step toward supporting the college's "infrastructure and developmental requirements and provide additional space for future expansion."
This transfer hands the institution more room to operate. The college remains a staple of higher education in the state. Officials expect the new space to solve ongoing capacity issues.
