Agartala: Police arrested a 19-year-old man at Udaipur Railway Station on Sunday morning. Officers seized 12 kilograms of cannabis from his bag. The suspect, identified as Sagar Mia, hails from the Moharbhog area of Sepahijala district.

A joint task force of local police and Government Railway Police spotted Mia acting oddly while the Kanchanjunga Express sat at the platform. The train runs the Sakram to Sealdah route. Mia could not explain what he carried in his luggage. Officers searched the bag and found the drugs. They suspect the shipment was headed to Chennai.

The Officer-in-Charge of Radha Kishore Pur Police Station led a team to the scene to start an investigation. Officials say the contraband is worth lakhs of rupees. Police are now hunting for the source of the drugs and anyone waiting to receive them. Authorities booked Mia under the NDPS Act. They want to dismantle the supply chain. "Authorities confirmed that the investigation will continue until the full chain of the smuggling operation is uncovered."
