Guwahati: Security forces pulled 30,000 drug tablets from an autorickshaw in the Chiripool area of Assam. The haul is worth Rs 1 crore on the international black market. Assam Rifles and Assam Police ran the operation together. A tip-off led Officer-in-Charge Shankar Dayal and his team to set up a checkpoint near the Lakhipur Police Station.

Officers stopped the vehicle and found 125 packets shoved into two cartons. Police arrested Vishal Das, 24, of Cremation Ground Road, and Arjun Das, who lives in Chiripool. Authorities now have them in custody. The suspects face charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Investigators are now working to identify the origin of the drugs and where they were headed. The police statement noted that they are "investigating the source of the consignment and its intended destination." They are also checking if other people helped move the illegal cargo. A case is active at the Lakhipur Police Station.
