Guwahati: Cachar Police intercepted a truck hauling 2.3 lakh Yaba tablets. The haul carries an estimated street value of Rs 57.5 crore. Officers discovered the drugs tucked away inside a concealed chamber built into the vehicle frame. It was a clean bust.

Authorities arrested two people at the scene. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the seizure on social media, praising the department for the operation. He credited the Cachar Police and the wider Assam Police force for the recovery. "Cachar Police for recovering the tablets from a concealed chamber inside the truck," Sarma stated in his post.

The Chief Minister used the hashtags NashaMuktBharat and AssamAgainstDrugs to signal his support for the crackdown. Officials have not yet released the identities of the two suspects. Investigators also remain silent on where the truck started its trip or where the drugs were headed.
