Cachar Police Seize Illegal Liquor and Heroin in Separate Operations

Guwahati: Cachar district police hit two targets in separate busts. Dholai Police stopped a truck near 2 pm, hauling over 100 cartons of foreign liquor bound for Mizoram. The haul included Kingfisher, McDowell's, Signature, Blenders Pride, and Royal Stag. Officers hauled the truck and booze to Dholai Police Station to weigh the haul and tally the value. Kripamoy Rabha, the driver and son of Ramakanta Rabha, sits in handcuffs while investigators grill him about the supply chain.

Separately, Gumrah Police hit National Highway-6. They set up shop near the old MVI gate at Digar Khal on July 30. Officers flagged down a vehicle with plate number ML-05-AA-6770. They pulled a pile of suspected heroin from the car during the search. Ford Pala, a Meghalaya local, was detained at the scene. He remains in police custody.

Police are digging into both cases to track interstate trafficking routes. "Police have launched a detailed investigation to determine the exact quantity and nature of the seized substance, trace its source and identify other individuals who may be linked to the alleged drug trafficking network." Authorities are currently checking if these seizures connect to wider criminal syndicates operating across state lines.
