Guwahati: Boko police took three men into custody following a chaotic scene in Bamunigaon. Locals intercepted a Hyundai, bearing license plate AS 01 DX 5856, after it smashed into a roadside divider. The car was headed toward Goalpara when the wreck occurred. Residents swarmed the vehicle, suspicious that a young woman inside had been kidnapped.

The crowd held the suspects until authorities arrived. Officers detained Faridul Islam of Lakhipur, Amidul of Baruajhar, and Abbas Ali of Ulubari. Three Manipur residents, Thangkha Hao, Chatmin Khang, and Sara, filed the official complaint against the trio.

Boko Police Station Officer-in-Charge Munna Pasni confirmed the investigation. He noted that detectives are working to clarify the exact nature of the confrontation and the alleged unruly behavior inside the cabin. Police suspect a link to the drug trade, though those claims are currently unproven. "Police said further details would emerge as the investigation progresses," Pasni added.
