Guwahati: Cachar Police pulled over a truck at the Old MVI Check Point in Digharkhal on Tuesday, August 18. They searched the vehicle and found 50,000 Yaba tablets hidden inside a secret chamber. The street value of the drugs sits at Rs 10 crore.
Officers arrested one person at the scene. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the haul on X, highlighting the state's aggressive push to stop drug trafficking. He praised the local and state teams for their work.
Sarma took a jab at the traffickers during his announcement. "Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. So did this drug haul," the Chief Minister said.
