NPF Women’s Wing Hosts Legal Seminar on Protection Laws

Kohima: The Naga People’s Front Women’s Wing held a legal awareness event at its Kohima division office on September 4. The workshop focused on the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, the POSH Act, and the POCSO Act. It operated under the theme: Know your rights, strengthen your voice.

Nagaland State Commission for Women member Kekhrienuo Meyase delivered the keynote address. She told attendees that women must grasp the legal avenues built to protect them from violence and harassment. Meyase urged political functionaries to use their networks to educate local communities on safety and security. She said, "Women political functionaries to act as catalysts for change, noting that their extensive grassroots-to-policymaker network places them in an ideal position to sensitise communities on safety, security, and women's rights."

Legal consultant Advocate Apila Sangtam explained the mechanics of the three acts. She pushed for strict compliance and civic responsibility to stop offenses against minors and women. Anhie-ü Solo chaired the session, and Kikhruneinuo Bio offered the vote of thanks to close the day.
