Nagaland Students Engage in History, Business, and Health Seminars

Kohima: Nagaland colleges hosted a series of academic seminars on August 21 and 24. They targeted history, entrepreneurship, and mental health. Students gained practical insights through workshops and competitions.

Modern College in Piphema held a seminar on decolonizing Naga history. Dr. T. Cholichem Sangtam delivered the keynote. He told students to "critically examine and decolonise how Naga history and culture have been represented." Twenty-one researchers presented papers. Lamgousang and Neizokholie took first place.

Pranab College observed Entrepreneurship Day 2026. The Commerce Department and Career Guidance Cell led the event. Assistant Professor Rupam Dasgupta gave the keynote. Entrepreneur Kimthailiu Panmei delivered a pep talk. Students participated in an Innovation Competition and a Campus Sale. Group C won the competition.

The Dimapur 24/7 Foundation and the Office of the Chief Medical Officer met at Eden Higher Secondary School on August 24. They held an HIV/AIDS awareness event for 300 students. District Programme Officer Orenthung Ngullie led the talk. He focused on transmission and prevention. Annie Jain chaired the initiative.

Pfutsero Government College hosted a mental health seminar. Experts addressed suicide, anxiety, and depression. Psychiatric Social Worker Veronica Nriame spoke on coping mechanisms. Counsellor Chuti Semy analyzed addiction. He advised students to uninstall addictive apps and practice dopamine fasting.
