Kohima: A Nagaland Legislative Assembly committee inspected Pfutsero Town on July 22, 2026. They came to audit the implementation of the Nagaland Municipal Act of 2023 and the 1978 Village and Tribal Councils Act. Advisor K. Tokugha Sukhalu led the delegation. Other members included advisors Imkongmar and Dr. Kekhrieilhoulie Yhome, plus MLAs A. Nyamnyei Konyak, Dr. Neisatuo Mero, and Y. Lima Onen Chang.
Khruohituonuo Rio brought officials from the Assembly Secretariat. Phek Deputy Commissioner Rhosietho Nguori moderated the session. Local administrators like Pfutsero ADC Mhalo Humtsoe, SDPO Ramneek Gautam, and BDO Vekhrolo Koza joined the talk. The committee held intense sessions with town councillors, Gaon Buras, Village Council chairmen, and VDB secretaries. They drilled down on service delivery, infrastructure, and waste management.
Stakeholders flagged gaps in scheme rollouts and financial resources. Everyone wants better coordination between village and urban bodies. The committee promised to study these inputs. They plan to use the feedback to sharpen state policy. The committee stated, "the observations and recommendations arising from the visit would strengthen the implementation of both Acts, thereby enhancing the overall functioning of Urban Local Bodies and Rural Local Bodies in the state."
The team thanked Pfutsero Town Council chairman Mikha Kenye for the help. They also noted the support from district officials. Work continues.
