Kohima: Nagaland's Department of Social Welfare is opening its online application portal for the State Scholarship Scheme for Persons with Disabilities on July 20. Students in classes I through VIII can apply for the 2026 academic session through the official website at https://scholarship.nagaland.gov.in. Both new applicants and those seeking renewals must submit their paperwork by November 30, 2026. The portal houses all specific guidelines and eligibility requirements for interested families.
Separately, the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Committee on Urban Local Bodies and Nagaland Village Councils is hitting the road. K Tokugha Sukhalu chairs the group. They will meet with village council chairmen and VDB secretaries from Pfutsero Sadar and the Pfutsero Town Council on July 22. The agenda focuses on the Nagaland Municipal Act of 2023 and the 1978 Nagaland Village and Tribal Councils Act, which was amended in 2022. The committee expects all members to join the visit.
