Kohima: The Naga Rising admitted to internal failures on July 14. Its parent body failed to support the Rising People’s Party. The group issued a formal statement in Dimapur. They lacked resources. This forced the Rising People’s Party to merge with the Naga People’s Front.
The group initially acted as an alternative to improve Nagaland. Joel Naga and other members led the party as an independent entity linked to the parent body. The Naga Rising had urged leaders to keep the party alive before the final decision. Political pressures made the merger inevitable. The parent body expressed regret over the outcome.
The statement acknowledged the dedication of the staff. "We admit our own failures," the organization wrote. They cited limitations in providing guidance. The Naga Rising remains committed to its original vision. It promises to push for a social order based on justice and equality. The group will continue to demand accountability and transparency in civic governance. They aim to inform the younger generation about these rights and obligations.
