Kohima: The 19th Assembly Constituency of the Naga People’s Front held its official oath-taking ceremony at Phek Town Hall on July 27. Party workers gathered to signal a fresh start. MLA Kuzholuzo Azo Nienu, an advisor to the Nagaland Science and Technology department, addressed the crowd. He told workers to dedicate themselves to building the organization under the leadership of Chief Minister and NPF President Dr. Neiphiu Rio.
Nienu said the party will grow under Rio. He believes the team will successfully drive welfare and development for the people. Senior leader Vesheta Khesoh echoed these sentiments, stressing that collective commitment remains the only way to ensure party growth. Zachinyi Khesoh, president of the Farmers Wing, voiced his satisfaction regarding the merger of the two parties. He officially reaffirmed his support for Nienu in the next election.
Coordination matters. Secretary Velapra Shijoh urged the rank and file to work together to fortify the party at both the state and constituency levels. Api Vadeo, working president of the NPF Phek Division, administered the oath to the new office bearers. Rev. Dr. Vezopa Tetseo, pastor of Phek Town Baptist Church, led the dedicatory prayer. Khosheta Rhakho, secretary of the Central Organising Board, chaired the event, while Pastor Veprete Lasuh of Bible Hill Baptist Church offered the invocation.
The program featured a welcome address from 19th A/C NPF President Lavoto Chizo and special musical performances by the Ruzazho Unit NPF and Sakulu Lohe. The event closed with a pledge from all attendees to stay united. As the session ended, members committed to serving the public with renewed dedication.
