Mizoram Rural Bank Hits 10,000 Crore Business Mark

Aizawl: Mizoram Rural Bank cleared the 10,000 crore business milestone for the first time. The bank hit a total business volume of 10,656.08 crore during the 2025-26 financial year. It stands as the fastest-growing Regional Rural Bank in the Northeast. Governor General Vijay Kumar Singh released the 43rd Annual Report at Lok Bhavan in Aizawl on Monday.

Growth hit 11.26 percent year-on-year, a regional high. The bank reported a net profit of 152.27 crore, ranking second among northeastern RRBs. It also reached a business per branch figure of 100.53 crore, making it one of the first four banks of its kind nationwide to cross the 100 crore mark. Business per employee reached 21.70 crore, the highest in the region.

Digital transactions now make up 97.36 percent of the bank's volume. This is the second-highest rate in the country. The bank achieved a credit-deposit ratio of 63.29 percent and hit 154 percent of its target under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana. In Mizoram, it leads as the largest lender with 4,129.98 crore in advances and holds 6,526.10 crore in deposits.

The bank holds 78 percent of PMJDY accounts, 56 percent of PMJJBY enrolments, 53 percent of PMSBY enrolments, and 43 percent of APY enrolments. Governor Singh praised the early report release and the bank's reach. He stated, "The bank has played a role in extending banking services to remote and hilly areas of the state while supporting rural livelihoods and financial inclusion."
